We had the lovely author of ” Even pink duck swims ” visit the nursery on Tuesday 1st May.
The children visited the gingerbread house to talk about water safety and had a look at her lovely book.
Some of our families purchased a signed copy and got to take home a colour changing duck. I’m sure lots of children were squeaky clean that night as they excitedly waited to see what colour their duck would turn.
You will find a link to our most recent Ofsted report, at the bottom of our websites home page.
Whilst we are pleased to see a number of positive things said in our latest OFSTED report, we are disappointed to have fallen a little bit short of “outstanding”.
We don’t think the two reasons given for us not yet being outstanding are really strong enough to justify Ofsteds view, and particularly in the case of the point about us not collecting detailed information , we think this is inconsistent with other praise given to us elsewhere in the report.
We are praised for knowing babies routines well, for following their routines from home, for involving parents in many ways… all strengths that reflect our commitment to parent and child partnership , which be in no doubt, starts at Tiddlers on Day 1 and before.
Of course, OFSTED must be free to judge as they see fit, and whatever we can learn from them we will.
After 17 years our focus and energies continue to be our children, doing all that we can to ensure that all our children enjoy their time at Tiddlers and that they are all as school ready as they can possibly be when they leave us.
Many thanks for the numerous messages of support following this report and if any current or potential parents want to discuss any of the reports findings in more detail please do not hesitate to contact myself or any of my staff.
Many thanks Louise
What a lovely afternoon treat to have Timys ices visit nursery ,with thanks to Tara. Tara’s children have attended nursery over the last 7 years and her youngest is now off to school. As a thank you and treat for Serens’ friends Tara arranged for a local ice cream van to visit Tiddlers on her last day. The children loved every minute and made staff super proud with their beautiful manners. Louise then filled up the money float allowing all rooms to have the experience of the summer treat.
A big thank you to Tara , Gethin , Bethan and Seren we wish you lots of fun as you continue your journey at school.

At Tiddlers the children enjoy collecting the eggs, that our chickens have laid. The children then sell them in the Tiddlers shop 75p for half a dozen. If you would like to buy some please see the children and staff in the 2-3’s shop.
Why not then send a photo of your children using the eggs in baking activities or eating them for their tea at home.

In the past we have been asked to supply a uniform for children to wear at nursery. The general reasons are normally so children can be like their siblings who attend school or to keep their ” at home clothes” clean.
It is completely up to individuals whether your child wears a uniform: some parents are very keen whereas others are less inclined towards it. Therefore we have found the easiest way for those who wish to purchase is through Tesco clothing. We have now set up an account where you can purchase as little as one item , delivered directly to your door. You will receive Tesco clubcard points and nursery will receive 5% of all orders, which will go back into nursery on toys and equipment.
Please remember this is optional.
